::It's a rather nice spring and the shop has updated for the spring season. Though in the center aisle as usual is that large, creepy mirror that reflects weird stuff. Though perhaps you need some spring clothes, or perhaps spring Haiku, or prepare for graduation ceremonies at normal schools.

So you wish for there to be an 'enemy' or 'threat' for you to have the appearance of work?

E-eh? That's... I mean. We always get better publicity while there's an enemy we can deal with, sure, but...

The Dark Mist case is still holding up most of our available resources... plus, we just don't have the manpower these days. One's going to be with child soon, one's currently a teenager on leave due to needing some mental recuperation, one's working on her own goals...

And then there's that business of the fact we need to be hunting down leads on... what was it, those strange mystical draws that people seem to be able to pull off.

Frankly, I'm surprised you don't have robots. Though, "Strange Mystical Draws"?

I've been working on getting clearance for some hand-built robot staff, but the officers are afraid of... what was it... "me turning into a tyrannical machine overlord convinced with bringing us into the revolution." Plus, the Machine Emperor shenanigans a while back really hurt the viability of mechanized officers, due to their potential to hijack.

Yeah. Based off a record about "when dark and light intersect", I think is how the saying goes? People who have been pawns of Dark Mist have made this draw before. I had to duel Moeko through a gate, and used a "Chaos Draw".

The Illusion Witches also used this fact, based on miss Mira's research into said record and their own powers. If Dark Mist is after anything, it's likely that.

And the card drawn is almost always something that makes things worse for their opponent, something I've never heard of before.

I remember those fellows. Those are actually what I would recommend... ... ... though "When darkness intersects light"? I think I've heard of a legend about that.

I have some basic models based on the pursuit prototypes that got wrecked in the Machine Emperor misfortunes that I've been working on in my spare time. They've been running some fairly standard decks, and have some routine programming and personality functions. The problem is getting the department to let me use them without them thinking I'm going to stage a takeover or something silly.

Yeah, the rest of the record has been lost to antiquity, but from what little we know, the research stemming from it comes with pieces like that. And the end result is always something that allows for someone to... I guess to put it in a simple way, "create the cards they draw". If Dark Mist had something like that, they'd likely be unstoppable.

That would require an intense enough threat. ... I could show you those ruins. I know where they are. And I'm very familiar with that legend, officer.

...Wait, you could? I thought most of the legend had been completely lost?
